This five-book series is my personal reinterpretation of how Ukrainian classical literature can be visually presented today. Instead of the traditional muted tones typically associated with classics, I chose bold, vibrant colors to engage a modern reader and highlight the continued relevance of these texts.
Production choices — including a cloth spine, blind embossing, and silver foil printing — add a tactile sense of refinement and respect for the original works, while contrasting with the unconventional palette.
The collection is unified by a custom visual language built around a single graphic element: the line. Each cover features a minimalist symbol drawn in linework, representing five natural states — a human, a plant, a bird, weather, and an object. These abstract forms echo the emotional tone and thematic depth found within the stories.
